we lost

it's after midnight and we're down by more than 20,000 votes. In Maine, that's more than we can recover from the remaining 20% of precincts left to report.

It's over.

We lost.

I guess it's a good thing we hadn't set a date.

  1. "It" is not over. This stage, maybe, but it's not the first time we've had a setback. "It" is going to happen eventually, and they won't be able to stop us.

  4. I am not sorry. I am damn pissed off. Somehow Holier than Thou knuckle draggers from out of state managed to mobilize enough brain dead Mainers to override one of the few sensible laws I have seen the legislature pass.

As Mel says, it's not over. It will happen. Small consolation right now I know.

  5. I'm very sorry too. We both got out there & voted, but I expected P-town to win the vote. I am angry and saddened and hope equal rights will be won in the near future. Sending you virtual hugs.

  9. Dawn,

I know you put a lot of time and energy into to this effort. Things didn't work out this time. Take a rest and get your head cleared out-then prepare to do battle once again. Be rest assured that there are people who are supporting your efforts.
