cookie time!

While something like two feet of snow fell outside yesterday, I baked cookies. What you see here is a tin I made up for an elderly lady I will see this morning when I go shovel out her house.

There are chocolate chip, sugar, ginger, macaroons, Russian Tea Cakes (the gumdrop ones) and baklava made with walnuts and baklava made with spiced dried apples, cranberries and raisins. The cookies I made yesterday, the baklava I made a few days ago.

Wow. They look awesome! You should sell them for bongo bucks per tin.

We made our Christmas cookies a few days ago. Iced sugar cookies. For the past couple of years we've made a "train cake". We bought a tin with nine train molds in it a couple of years back, and since then we've baked and decorated trains every Christmas, and then set it up on a large "confectionary countryside".

Look at how cute! Just like normal people cookies!

The only cookies I've ever been good at are the "are you kidding me? mega chunk chocolate chunk" cookies. Because anything tastes good with enough chocolate.

Christmas and cookies! One more reason to be grateful there are women on the planet. My wife and daughter get an odd look in their eyes and several hours later, there are cookies for me. Watching them tear the kitchen apart is one of the family traditions I enjoy the most.

Your cookies just have to taste as good as they look.
